Description

Raining Orca it was this morning as Jydee got the first spot moments after our arrival in The Patch as rain fell down all around us and the Orca were absolutely loving it! It was a heavy rain storm that moved through and we could hear amongst the still conditions the sound of falling rain on the oceans surface only disrupted by the powerful exhalation of each Orca surfacing. It was beautiful and another memory to treasure as this incredible season closes in on our final week with the Orca of Bremer Bay. One of the most amazing observations today was watching as the Orca rolled and stretched out their bodies to feel the rain falling on their skin, Nani and Slater especially were making the most of the moment. Often we observe the Southern Right Whales and Humpback Whales perform the same behaviour but today it was rather special to watch the Orca showing their sensitive side in the rain. Playtime followed as they made the most of a relaxing morning after a big day yesterday with the rewards of that meal still clear to see. It was then time to push east for a little while at a steady pace before back to playtime and so the rhythm went for the rest of our day with them ahead. Maddison, Grace and Helen were enjoying their babysitter Slater as they all played together around us and welcomed everyone onboard into the fun with many close approaches and cheeky belly up hugs. Maddison was particular interested in the GoPro today as she beelined Arry and we could see her eye looking straight back at us intensely, what a special character she is our miss Maddison. A little later in the early afternoon we noticed a second family approach as Giovanni came over to hangout with Slater as the youngsters returned back to their mums. Play and socialising is a very important part of the life of a wild Orca and we had the opportunity today of being welcomed into the fun by two family pods. To complete another special day with the Orca there was a ruffling of white water a short distance away as the cheeky Pilot Whales decided to move through the area and it was great to spend some time with them all as they surrounded the Steep Point. Many happy, smiling little faces bobbed past as for a rare occasion today the Pilot Whales were not interested in pursuing the Orca and instead kept to themselves as they pushed out to the east. Sleepy sun soaked Australian Sea Lions completed our beautiful Autumn day as we returned back to the Bremer Bay Boat Harbour with the rain from earlier in the morning now on the horizon and a sun filled afternoon ahead. #jointhepod #WhaleWatchWesternAustralia #WhaleWatchQueensland #WhalesGoldCoast #BremerBayKillerWhale #TheLanguageOfTheWhales 📍: #BremerBay | Western Australia 📸: Whale Watch Western Australia | #WAtheDreamState 🐳WA Tours➡️ https://whalewatchwesternaustralia.com 🐳QLD Tours➡️ https://whalewatchqueensland.com
