In line with her pledge to strengthen policies on foreign nationals, the new prime minister, Sanae Takaichi, seems to be willing to accelerate talks on tightening foreign land ownership and immigration rules. Meanwhile, foreign residents in Japan just hit record 3.95 million, and it seems like the number will continue to grow with the rising number of babies born to foreign parents.
