Ex-Military Radio Trailer Becomes a Charming Off-Grid Camper

We found this American ex-army radio reconnaissance trailer — likely post-war, early 1950s — for just £1000, moments away from being scrapped. Rather than see it go to waste, we decided to turn it into something useful… and a bit luxurious. With help from Bob, we’ve started converting it into a country gentry–style campervan — complete with wood interior, working electrics, shower, water system, and a comfy bed. In this video, we take you through the story so far: from dragging it home to gutting the inside and turning it into a livable space. Bob’s nearly finished the inside — the only bits left are the solar panels, hot water, and a bit of final wiring.
