Chassis 05978 was subsequently refurbished and modified as part of a build initiated in the 1980s. Finished in red with a black tail panel and lower accents, the car features metal wheel-arch flares and rides on 16″ NTM “coffin spoke” alloy wheels coupled with QA1 adjustable coilovers at all four corners. Power is from a 2.4-liter Tipo 135CS V6 that breathes through triple Weber 44 IDF carburetors as well as 24-valve cylinder heads that were reportedly sourced from the Lancia Stratos racing program. Inside, black leather–trimmed seats are accompanied by a MOMO steering wheel paired with a gated shifter linked with a five-speed manual transaxle. Further equipment includes clear headlight covers and a removable roof panel along with custom exhaust headers and Borla mufflers. The car was previously sold on BaT in January 2024 before being acquired by the selling dealer in February 2026. This E-series 246 is now offered by 1600veloce —a BaT Local Partner—in New York State with manufacturer’s literature, a Matthias Bartz report, and a clean Montana title.
