🎥 More About "Tether":
Winner of multiple festival awards including "Best Director," "Best Sci-Fi" and "Audience Award," TETHER stars GEFFRI MAYA as "Mickie," a woman running a remote space station by herself who receives a mysterious transmission calling for help that she must unravel or an untold number of lives could be lost! Also starring MING-NA WEN as the Captain of the closest ship and her only human connection, as well as the voice talents of SAMM LEVINE and JOE RUSSELL.
🎬 Director’s Statement:
The universe is a cold, dangerous place and the only way to survive is if we look out for each other. This theme applies not only to “Tether,” my thriller set in a space station, but also to making films. Filmmaking is a collaborative art, and you have to work together if you’re going to survive. I am beyond grateful to have had an amazing team by my side pulling off an ambitious tale with spectacular stunts and an emotional arc that resonates.
I love stories where flawed but relatable characters are thrown into high-pressure situations that force them to change or die. Genre stories are the best way to hold a mirror up to ourselves and our world and explore our sins and our strengths. Even in the face of dystopic odds, we can find solace, community, and our best chance at survival through the support of those around us, and our ability to lean on that support to grow.
