Time Travel On A Budget

I wasn't expecting to time travel on my little overnight get away to celebrate my granddaughter's birthdays. But God just loves to give me amazing surprises and this was an especially good one! We "just happened" to drive past this little restaurant on the way to our motel and I could see American flags in the window. It looked intriguing and I suggested it might be fun to go there for dinner. I didn't actually see the name of the place but I searched American Diner in New Plymouth New Zealand, and up popped the Deluxe Diner with the menus and reviews. This wonderful little vintage diner exceeded my expectations! The vintage vibe, the garage style decor, the color theme and bar stools, the juke box music, oh my! I was fully immersed in America the way it used to be when I was a kid. It felt so full of possibilities and hopeful optimism and absolute abundance. It felt exciting! But it also felt relaxing and innocent. Watching my granddaughters enjoying their sundaes was such a highlight! It was a trip back in time and so nostalgic. I will be going back there for my next birthday!
