Description
Though unintentional, this has become the largest project I have ever undertaken. Collectively around 1000 hours over the majority of my 20s, during pivotal moments with great people. Inhabitants is about this period in time, an objective look into the world from my perspective and an appreciation for creativity. My creative pursuits have allowed me to travel the world, work with some of the most incredible people and brands and most importantly given me a medium to express myself.
I first started shooting Timelapse's around 2016 and carried on over the progression of my career. From being a Flight Attendant to working around the world with Discovery and later Beautiful Destinations, every step of the way I shot either a Timelapse or Hyperlapse of wherever I was.
I never had the goal of making a film like this, but it just so happened I had shot around 500 lapses over the 6 year period and I felt like they told a story of my journey in a unique way. I believe they're an overlooked art-form and require immense practice, concentration and most of all patience. In that process, a lot is to be learned about one's self. For me, it's that great things take time, patience leads to good things and mastery is a never ending pursuit.
Funny enough, a lot of the lapses used in this film were shot on a GH4 and GH5, long before I picked up a camera capable of shooting 8K Raw stills. Yet my progression as an editor helped to develop a sense of cohesion with the newer lapses.

A lot of the Hyperlapses took hours to get it to the point shown in the film, from frame by frame 2 point stabilisation, to perspective and distortion correction and finally artefact and unwanted object removal + colour correction.
As said in the beginning of the film, I only want to bring creations of the highest expression into this world. In a way, a film is like a baby. You nurture it, want it to be the best it can be and give it your undivided attention for a time and then it's released into the world to be its own thing.
Inspired by works of nature and man-made creations, this is the best I can do in this point and time.
Due to the length of the film I felt it was best to split it in to two films: one of cities and people and one of nature.
