The US-Israeli offensive against Iran which has killed hundreds of Iranians including the country's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamene The high-stakes, joint action soon escalated into a region-wide conflict with Iran retaliating, striking back at several countries across the Middle East, and the Iranian-backed militia Hezbollah launching rockets at Israel from Lebanon. The UK didn't get involved in the initial wave of attacks against Iran,but the Prime Minister subsequently agreed to an American request to use British military bases for "defensive" action against missile sites.
