Description

*originally recorded on 2-28-26* Signal on the left: 2 pairs of Safetran 12x24 inch lights with Dialight Ball LEDs, a General Signals Type 3 electronic bell, a Siemens gate mechanism, and RECO LED gate lights. Signal on the right: 2 pairs of Safetran 12x24 inch lights with Dialight Ball LEDs, a General Signals Type 3 electronic bell, a Siemens gate mechanism, and RECO LED gate lights. While chasing 320 south, I heard that 319 was getting on duty in Birmingham with an absolutely massive train. As such, I decided to head back up to downtown Jasper and wait for it. When I got to the diamond, I saw BNSF had something lined north up the BNSF Birmingham Subdivision, so I quickly set-up my camera and waited. After a bit of waiting, I was able to catch my sixth train of the day: a northbound BNSF intermodal train with a CSX ES44AH leading a CSX AC44CW for power. This train is the one that essentially replaced NS 283 on the NS Memphis District East End after NS lost this JB Hunt contract to CSX last year. Thankfully, nothing appears to have changed to this crossing since I last recorded it back in 2023. https://www.rxrsignals.com/Alabama/G-Q/Jasper/Birmingham1/ If you like my videos, feel free to leave me a tip on Ko-Fi!
