Ranked Race online - Round 2
Event: N-GT Pro Cup
Car: TVR Tuscan T400R
Track: Mount Panorama Circuit - Grand Prix (Bathurst)
This is the second round of the N-GT Pro Cup Event which takes place at Bathurst Circuit.
As usual, finding an optimal suspension setup for Sector 2 of Bathurst is always a major challenge, as this particular sector goes through the mountain area of this track. The rest of Bathurst is primarily about improving straight line speed, with an eye on also raising cornering speed. With a bit of crash test experimentation (🤦♂️) during Qualifying session, I was able to find decent suspension and differential settings for my Tuscan T400R so to drive it with consistency.
I luckily managed to avoid potential disaster coming off the grid at the start of this race. However, I wasn't as fortunate later in the first lap, as my Tuscan T400R made solid contact with another car and absorbed considerable bodywork damage. And it turned out that the damage taken was not only cosmetic, as this incident drastically affected the steering performance on my Tuscan T400R and caused it to continuously veer off-center! At this point I had to make the tough decision to either try to continue driving my T400R in this current condition, or immediately go the pits to get this problem fixed. I opted to stay out on the track and finish out this race. Despite the ongoing steering issues throughout this race, I was able to keep my T400R pointed straight as I possibly could, and also avoid getting into any more potential accidents.
