Description
This week, I'm throwing, trimming and assembling a teapot with a few new features. It's always an intimidating task putting one of these together if you haven't in a while, and these were amongst the first I've made in an entire year! Thankfully, during that time off, I'm been living around teapots in my workshop that I previously made and were unsure of... The spouts were a touch too large and the positioning of them too was slightly off. I've been ruminating on how correcting these errors when I next make teapots and I'm so glad to have finally found a moment to construct a new batch.
I also take you through my sketching process, how I draw out rough ideas, filling pages with proportionally different vessels before settling one a few specific shapes that's I like. I find this method of quickly 'seeing' various shapes superior to doing all of my concept work on the wheel as truth be told, it's much faster filling a page or two like this as compared to throwing all the components needed and assembling them.
Thanks so much for taking your time to watch! I hope you enjoy the video.
