Who steals a homeless man’s shoes?

Imagine waking up in the morning and discovering your shoes are gone. You’re homeless, sleeping outside on Skid Row. You don’t have another pair. Now you have to walk streets covered in broken glass, urine, and who knows what else. As unbelievable as it sounds, stealing a homeless person’s shoes is far more common than most people realize. This is the reality of homelessness. Not just in Los Angeles, but in communities big and small across America. Homelessness is growing because housing costs continue to rise faster than wages, pushing more people to the brink. Too many working people simply cannot afford rent, and one setback can become a housing crisis. Nobody should have to live like this. Every person deserves a safe place to sleep at night.
