Joanna Heeney was out on a walk in Veliko Tarnovo, Bulgaria, with two of her own dogs, when she heard faint cries as they walked past the rubbish dump on November 14th. After getting her dogs to sit, Joanna went over to the ditch to investigate, initially thinking it was baby rabbits.
