Ingredients
For the burgers
Burger buns
2 burger patties (or 2 burger balls)
2 slices cheddar cheese

For the sizzling cheese sauce
2 tbsp butter
2 tbsp flour
1½ cups milk
1 tsp dijon mustard
Salt & pepper
½ cup shredded extra-sharp cheddar cheese
Instructions
Make the burgers
Divide ground beef into 2 balls and season with salt and pepper.
Preheat a pan over medium-high heat. Add a little butter and toast the burger buns until golden. Set aside.
Place burger balls in the hot pan, cover with parchment paper, and smash flat.
Cook until the bottom is nicely browned, flip, add a slice of cheddar to each patty, and cook until melted.
Stack one patty on top of the other and place onto the bun. Cut the burger in half.
Make the sizzling cheese sauce
Heat a cast-iron pan over medium heat.
Melt butter, add flour, and whisk until smooth.
Gradually add milk, whisking constantly until thickened.
Season with salt and pepper, turn off the heat, then stir in shredded cheddar until smooth.
Assemble
Pour the cheese sauce into the hot cast-iron pan and let it sizzle.
