A shy animal by nature, these nimble bats are rarely encountered by humans due to their elusive behaviour and effective camouflage. Typically a rainforest species, tube nosed-bats feed on a variety of native and exotic fruits, nectar, flowers and pollen making them effective seed dispersers and pollinators within the Australian ecosystem.
