Description
Rhasidat Adeleke says she is prioritising her health this year as she looks to make a return to the World stage. The Texas-based athlete cut her season short last year due to injury, but she says she is buzzing to get back into the mix.
There was a warm welcome for their local hero as children from St Marks School lined up to meet Rhasidat Adeleke when she visited her old school. The 2025 season wasn't a vintage year for the Irish star. She cut her campaign short in August and missed the World Championships after she struggled with injuries and form.
Despite 2025’s struggles, Rhasidat is buzzing to start racing in 2026. With the likes of Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone and Marileidy Paulinho running sub-48 seconds in the 400m, Rhasidat is focused on closing the gap but there is one main priority.
Kate O'Connor, Sarah Healy and Cian McPhillips all shone on the world stage this year and Rhasidat is hopeful the medal rush will continue in 2026.
With the World Indoors, European Championships and Diamond League on the horizon, it won't be long before Irish fans get to see the multi Irish record holder back on track.
