Reform UK is facing continuing scrutiny as Nigel Farage ploughs ahead with plans for a by-election, which will be boycotted by political rivals. The party said it will propose August 6 as the date for the Clacton vote when it launches the parliamentary process to trigger the contest on Thursday. It comes after Chancellor Rachel Reeves made Mr Farage’s resignation as an MP official, saying “if he wants to spend the summer arguing with a bin, I won’t stop him”.
