Media Briefing: Officer-Involved Shooting at Hotel at 11050 SW Freeway I Houston Police

Assistant Chief Luis Menendez-Sierra briefs the media on an officer-involved shooting at 11050 SW Freeway. Preliminary information: At approximately 9:10 pm on Sunday, February 22nd, HPD officers responded to a shooting-in-progress call at a hotel at the above address. The report stated a man was shooting into a hotel room. Officers arrived within three minutes. They observed a male, Hispanic in his 60's, coming from the south side of the building, walking towards them with a rifle. They gave commands to put the weapon down. The suspect refused, and three officers discharged their duty weapons. The suspect was struck and was declared deceased at the scene. One woman in the hotel was treated for minor injuries.
