So I headed over there and caught them right as they were getting home. We got to talking and they told me they'd just started renting the place, and the lawn was already a mess when they moved in. The landlord had left it in rough shape. The sidewalks and curbs were completely buried under dirt and overgrowth, the grass had gotten crazy tall, and there were weed trees growing all along the fence line and up against the house that really needed to come out. So I told them I'd take care of all of it completely free of charge. Now this one was going to be a big job, so I actually had some help. A good friend of mine flew in to lend a hand, and I'll be honest, I put him through the ringer on this one because it ended up being the hottest day of the year. We were working under a heat advisory and taking breaks in the truck just to cool down. But we got after it, scooping all the dirt off the sidewalks and curbs, cutting down the tall grass, and pulling out every one of those weed trees.
