If you believe that Jesus died on the cross, then salvation means death, you must die with Him. Colossians 2.12 says we’re buried with Him in baptism and raised with Him into new life. My old sinful life is dead – I am dead – with Christ! But just like Jesus, I have been raised from the dead and so like Paul, can say, ‘I live, yet not I, Christ lives in me!’
