GREAT LAKES EAGLE NEST COLLAPSE! EAGLET SNOW FOUND ALIVE ON GROUND & RESCUED 💖 HARRIET IS OK! 6.2.26

This is the Great Lakes Bald Eagle Nest in Traverse MI - home of Harry, Harriet & eaglet Snow 52 days old. The nest began to slip downward a week ago when a supporting branch cracked & fell unto another branch of a nearby tree. That saved the nest from falling to the ground. Unfortunately today while Harriet was on the nest feeding Snow, the nest collapsed at 4:59:28pm. Harriet sensed movement before the nest collapsed and she flew off to safety. Snow went down to the ground with the nest. An emergency task force with boots on the ground were immediately dispatched to locate Snow. They found & rescued Snow and the eaglet was taken to North Sky Raptor Sanctuary for an evaluation & treatment. This is breaking news so I will post more as the information comes in. Thankfully Snow is alive and is being treated for any injuries sustained.
