Description
In flooded Beach refugee camp in Gaza City, Worod and her four children open a UNICEF box filled with winter clothing to keep the kids warm as temperatures drop. "I was thinking about what we will do on Thursday, since it will be raining," Worod says. "The kids need sweaters. They're small, and they have to keep warm. I can handle it, but the children can't."
By mid-November, UNICEF had already brought more than 122,000 winter kits to kids in the Gaza Strip. In the coming weeks, UNICEF will continue distributing more clothing to children, from newborns to teenagers.
"I am very happy and I loved the box," says Tolin, 7. "I am very pleased with the sweater." For families living in damaged homes or makeshift shelters, these items help protect children from the cold, at a time when every layer counts.
