Description
February 9 to 13, 2026
President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. advanced key initiatives in energy security, education, agriculture, infrastructure and legislative reforms this week, reinforcing the Administration’s whole-of-government approach to national development.
He led the transition of stewardship of the Caliraya–Botocan–Kalayaan (CBK) Hydroelectric Power Plants in Laguna, strengthening renewable energy capacity and grid stability in Luzon following the completion of its 25-year Build-Rehabilitate-Operate-Transfer (BROT) agreement.
At Malacañan Palace, he witnessed the presentation of the logo commemorating the 80th Anniversary of Philippines–United States diplomatic relations, highlighting eight (8) decades of enduring partnership since 1946.
President Marcos Jr. also presided over the 3rd Legislative-Executive Development Advisory Council (LEDAC) Full Meeting of the 20th Congress, approving 21 priority measures for enactment before June.
He was presented with the memorandum of agreement (MOA) to accelerate nationwide classroom construction, and had a photo opportunity with the 140 newly appointed prosecutors.
In Zamboanga del Sur, the President inaugurated the rehabilitated Mahayag Dam, restoring irrigation services and supporting agricultural productivity and food security.
Capping off the week, President Marcos Jr. inspected the Contract Package (CP) 104 and led the groundbreaking of two underground stations under CP 105 of the Metro Manila Subway Project (MMSP), a major step toward completing the country’s first 33.1-kilometer subway system expected to serve up to 500,000 passengers daily.
