Description
Scone, NSW, is home to Australia's oldest warbird airshow, and the biggest event of its kind in the southern hemisphere. This year's show was a remarkable one, featuring three historic gatherings: a formation display of five Mustangs, four Kittyhawks and three Wirraways, all virtually unprecedented at an Australian airshow.
Other highlights included the Transall C-160, Pilatus PC-9, Corsair, Hudson, Avenger, Sea Fury, Vampire, Beech 18, Strikemaster, two Spitfires and a collection of First World War replicas.
For the first time, the event was organised by Paul Bennet Airshows, and Bennet himself flew multiple times, including leading the Sky Aces aerobatic team and displaying his Wolf Pitts Pro.
Each day's flying display was closed by a spectacular balbo, which featured 13 aircraft.
A much longer version of this programme, showing all these displays in much more detail along with several others not included here, is available on the PlanesTV streaming service.
