Surprising Neo With CUSTOM MADE Cochlear Implants!!! Today we are finally doing something we’ve been wanting to do for our son Neo. Since Neo was born profoundly Deaf, we first tried hearing aids, but they didn’t give him the access he needed in order to develop verbal speech. As hearing parents, we’ve been on such a journey learning how to support him, and cochlear implants have been the tool that opened up so much of his world. Neo has been wearing the same pair of bilateral cochlear implants for years, but recently he’s been wanting to personalize his hearing devices. In this video, we surprise him with his very own custom cochlear's—and his reaction was absolutely priceless. The moment he saw them was pure joy, and it made every step of this journey worth it. From his early days in early intervention, a listening and spoken language school to now being old enough to choose designs that show off his personality, this video is about so much more than technology. It’s about identity, confidence, and celebrating who Neo is. Since September is Deaf Awareness Month, we wanted to be sure we made this month extra especial for Neo and our family.
