If a defender goes under the screen and you don’t punish it… they’ll keep doing it all game. That’s why this shot is AUTOMATIC when you learn the timing. Shooting behind the screen isn’t just “pull up whenever.” It’s a read + a rhythm: you use the screen to create a pocket of space, force the defender to get lost in the screen, and get into your jumper before they can re-contest. Once you hit a couple, the whole defense changes — they stop going under, the screen defender has to step up, and suddenly your drives and passes open up too.
