Description
Angela and Phil spent over $250,000 trying for a baby with IVF. Angela says she felt like she was "broken" walking into a fertility clinic, while Phil says he sometimes felt invisible.
At one point, Angela was told she only had a four per cent chance of having a baby, but it wasn't until after their son Jimi was born that she told Phil how slim the rate of success was.
"I think given how much he loves and cares for me, he probably would have said, 'I'm not going to stand by and let you go through this any longer'," she said.
To explore how Australians are navigating the multimillion-dollar IVF industry, watch Insight episode Baby Business on SBS On Demand.
