Description

A live view of Mount Etna, Europe’s most active volcano, during an ongoing effusive eruption in the Valle del Bove on January 1, 2026. According to Italy’s National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology (INGV), the effusive vent feeding this activity is located near Mount Simone at approximately 2,100 meters above sea level. The most advanced lava front is currently positioned just south of Rocca Musarra, around 1,580 meters elevation. Monitoring networks show no significant changes in seismic or infrasonic activity, and GNSS and tilt data remain stable. A modest decompression trend has been observed in strain meter data, consistent with ongoing lava effusion. This 24/7 livestream provides real-time visuals of the eruption, offering viewers a continuous look at lava flow dynamics, atmospheric conditions, and volcanic behavior on Mount Etna. For our comprehensive multi-cam livestream of Etna which includes infrared cameras, earthquake graphs and more, visit the AfarTV channel LIVE page: https://www.youtube.com/@afartv/streams ---- Where is this camera?
