Gordon Brown and Baroness Harman meet Starmer as they rejoin government

Former Prime Minister Gordon Brown and former Deputy Leader of the Labour Party Harriet Harman were seen leaving 10 Downing Street on Saturday (9 May), with Sir Keir Starmer bringing the pair back to government. Mr Brown has been appointed as a special envoy on global finance and Lady Harman has been made an adviser on women and girls. It comes after Labour saw disastrous results in local elections across the country, with the party losing control of more than half of its London boroughs.
