There is much confusion in Christianity about the Feasts of the LORD. Some want to keep them. Some want to spiritualize them. Some want to place the Church under them. But we must ask one simple question: To whom were they given? And under what program? Let us begin in Leviticus. 1️- The Feasts Were Given to Israel Leviticus 23:2–4: “Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, Concerning the feasts of the LORD, which ye shall proclaim to be holy convocations, even these are my feasts. … These are the feasts of the LORD, even holy convocations, which ye shall proclaim in their seasons.” Notice carefully. God says: “Speak unto the children of Israel.” Not to the Body of Christ. Not to the Gentile nations. To Israel. These feasts were part of: • The Law covenant • The national life of Israel • The prophetic calendar They were not random celebrations. They were prophetic appointments. 2️- The Spring Feasts — Fulfilled in Christ’s First Coming There are seven feasts in Leviticus 23. The first four occur in the spring. Passover Christ died at Passover. John the Baptist said: “Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.” Our Lord Himself said: “I am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel.” — Matthew 15:24 His earthly ministry was to Israel under the Law. Passover pointed to the Lamb. Unleavened Bread Leaven speaks of sin. Christ was sinless. Firstfruits Christ rose from the dead — the firstfruits. Pentecost In Acts 2, Peter stands and says: “Ye men of Israel…” He is not preaching the Mystery. He is preaching what was: “spoken by the prophet Joel.” That is prophecy. That is Israel’s program. 3️- The Fall Feasts — Future for Israel The last three feasts: Trumpets Day of Atonement Tabernacles These point forward to: • Israel’s future repentance • National cleansing • The earthly kingdom Peter says in Acts 3:21: “Which God hath spoken by the mouth of all his holy prophets since the world began.” That is the prophetic program. Spoken since the world began. 4️- Now the Contrast — The Mystery Now we must rightly divide. Paul writes: Romans 16:25: “According to the revelation of the mystery, which was kept secret since the world began,” Notice the difference. Prophecy — spoken since the world began. Mystery — kept secret since the world began. That mystery was revealed to: Paul the Apostle. Ephesians 3:3: “How that by revelation he made known unto me the mystery…” Colossians 1:25–26: “…to fulfil the word of God; Even the mystery which hath been hid from ages and from generations…” This was not in the feasts. This was not in the Law. This was not in Israel’s calendar. This was hidden in God. 5️- The Body of Christ Is Not Under the Feasts Paul says in Colossians 2:16: “Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days:” Why? Because those things were shadows. They belonged to Israel’s covenant program. We are not saved by: • Feast keeping • Sabbath keeping • Holy days • Religious calendars We are saved by grace through faith. 6️- The Gospel That Saves Today Now let me be clear. The gospel that saves today is found in 1 Corinthians 15:1–4. Christ died for our sins. He was buried. He rose again the third day. That is the gospel of the grace of God. It is not tied to: • Passover observance • Pentecost keeping • Feast participation It is tied to faith in the finished work of Christ. 7️- Respect Without Confusion We do not mock the feasts. They are holy. They are Scripture. They are beautiful in their prophetic design. But they belong to Israel’s earthly program. The Body of Christ belongs to a heavenly calling revealed through Paul. Conclusion The feasts belong to prophecy. The Church, the Body of Christ, belongs to the revelation of the Mystery. Prophecy was spoken since the world began. The Mystery was kept secret since the world began. Today, salvation is not in days. It is not in seasons. It is not in sabbaths. It is in Christ. If you trust in His death, burial, and resurrection — you are saved. That is the simplicity of the gospel. And that is what we must preach.
