Photographing an Entire Country at 500mm

On my most recent trip to Namibia, I attempted to photograph the entire country using just a 500mm f/4 lens. This is how it went. It's so sharp, and it's one of the premier sports and wildlife photography lenses on the planet. But can it be used for basic travel photography? On my recent trip to Namibia I tried. It was a bit of a struggle, but there were some beautiful unintended consequences and I found myself loving the trip even more than usual.
