What Banks Don’t Tell You About Your Deposits

Most of us assume our money simply sits in a bank account. But what if those deposits are helping finance fossil fuel companies? On this episode of Just 2 Degrees, we explore the hidden relationship between banks, customer deposits and the climate crisis. We discuss how climate concerns are beginning to influence where people choose to keep their money, and whether depositors can actually pressure banks to change. The episode also looks at growing calls for accountability, including protests and legal action by Dutch climate group Milieudefensie against ING Bank over its financing of fossil fuel projects.
