CFNR 2269 South | Hwy 33 Railroad Crossing (At Rodgers Rd), Westley CA

Feb 10, 2026 10:22am After filming ACE and the UP Tracy, I came to find the CFNR where I was expecting them to be in Westley working the yard near the water tower meaning timing works out for once finally. This would be my start of this chase to Los Banos or Volta at least on this line which would be the first time I chased this train all the way down that far as I typically go no further south than Patterson or Crows Landing. The train ran south with CFNR 2269 leading the train which was cool to see. Not too long ago before this video, this line had a UP Gypsum Train come through to Westley. All three western side short lines now receive gypsum trains on the West Valley Sub and the West Side Line both the CFNR section and SJVR side where the CFNR half received the trains with UP power. Its EM gated mast is an SP 1950s - 60s signal install with its bell, gates, and gate lights changed. The closer signal is an SP late 1980s signal install with its lights, 1 pair of light heads, gates, gate lights, mechanism, and counterweight arms changed. The bell is also a likely change as SP late 80s MI signals mostly used MI Bells but the WCH could be original but I doubt it. No photos to prove othrwise.
