Don’t forget to like, comment your color choice & subscribe for more designs! ⸻ Materials (short) • Main fabric for frock & jacket (medium-weight woven) • Lining or light fabric for dress skirt (optional) • Interfacing for jacket collar & plackets • Matching thread, buttons (jacket), zipper or button for back frock • Elastic (if using for skirt waist), measuring tape, scissors, pins Pieces to cut (add 1 cm seam allowance) Frock • Front bodice on fold — 1 • Back bodice (2 halves) — 2 • Skirt panels (2 or 4 panels) — wide enough for fullness (total width ≈ 3–4× waist) • Neck facing/back placket — narrow strip Cropped Jacket • Front jacket (2) — cropped length • Back jacket (1 on fold or 2) • Sleeves (2) — set-in long sleeves • Collar (collar + undercollar) — 2 pieces • Jacket facing/placket & pocket flaps (optional) — small pieces Cutting tips (short) • Cut jacket from slightly heavier fabric or add interfacing on collar/placket. • For winter warmth, add a thin lining to jacket or use brushed cotton/corduroy. Stitching Steps (short & camera-ready) 1. Prepare bodice: Sew shoulder seams (right sides together). Finish neckline with facing; understitch so it sits flat. 2. Make back closure: Add center-back opening — zipper or button placket. Attach facing and finish. 3. Skirt panels: Hem skirt panels first if desired. Sew side seams, run gathering stitches across top, gather evenly to match bodice bottom measurement. 4. Join skirt & bodice: Pin right sides together, stitch and finish seam allowances. Press. 5. Jacket front/back: Sew shoulder seams, attach collar (stay-stitched & interfaced for crispness). 6. Sleeves: Stitch sleeve seams, insert sleeves into jacket armholes easing the cap. 7. Finish jacket: Add facings or plackets, stitch buttonholes and attach buttons. Topstitch around edges for a neat winter look. Add optional faux chest pockets or flaps. 8. Final touches: Press all seams. Try on, adjust hem length or gathers.
