Description

► The Foreign Office is in contact with authorities in Spain following reports that four Britons may have been killed in a wildfire. The bodies were found in a burnt-out car which had its steering wheel on the right. Antonio Sanz, Andalusia’s health and emergencies minister, said the people inside were believed to be “of British origin”. Downing Street said the government was seeking more information following the “concerning” reports. A No10 spokeswoman said: “I’m aware of those reports and the Foreign Office are in touch with the relevant authorities in Spain.” The wildfires have claimed at least 12 lives, and some 23 people are still missing as search operations continue. The fire is thought to have starred by a downed power line. Flames then spread in a wooded area around popular tourist destination of Almeria, in the Andalusia region. Scorching temperatures, tinder-dry conditions and strong winds have meant the flames have spread quickly. Soldiers have been drafted in to help firefighters as they try and get the fires under control. The bodies of the victims were found in and around the small village of Bédar, just outside Los Gallardos. #spain #wildfires #weather ► Have you subscribed to 5 News?: http://bit.ly/5NewsSub ► Follow 5 News on Twitter to keep up to date with the latest news - https://twitter.com/5_News Message us on Facebook to share your opinion - https://www.facebook.com/c5News See our latest pictures and videos on Instagram - https://www.instagram.com/c5news/ ► About 5 News: We bring you the stories that matter to you, from around the world and across the UK. 🎥 We post daily playlists with the biggest news of the day, interviews, special reports and investigations. 📺 Catch us on TV on Channel 5 every weekday 5-6pm 📱 Get in touch with us on WhatsApp at +44 7555 500 501 🎧 Listen to "How Did We Get Here?
