Police keep Iranian mourners and protesters apart in Manchester

Manchester police kept mourners paying tribute to late Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei separate from counter-protesters backing the ongoing US-Israeli operation against Tehran. Around 100 mourners at the vigil, while an estimated 300–400 counter-protesters gathered on the opposite side of the street in response to Khamenei's death. Some participants held Iranian flags and placards bearing slogans such as 'NO to Islamophobia'. Meanwhile, counter-demonstrators displayed flags with the image of a lion and sun, as well as portraits of US President Donald Trump, in support of the attacks on Iran. The US and Israel attacked Iran on February 28.
