#SouthSudan: Gaps in healthcare threaten lives as violence escalates

People in #SouthSudan are facing growing barriers to medical care, according to our new report:Left behind in crisis: Escalating violence and healthcare collapse in South Sudan With a lack of funding for health services, rising violence, and overlapping crises, the situation in the country is catastrophic. Here’s a glimpse of the current humanitarian crisis: 🔴 Eight attacks on our staff and facilities have occurred in 2025 alone. 🔴 One mother laboured for three days because the maternity ward lost 54 staff when funding disappeared. Tragically, her baby did not survive. 🔴 Ministry of Health staff treat around 900 patients a week, often without a salary that can support their families. Doctors Without Borders warn the urgent needs in South Sudan demand coordinated action, renewed international commitment and genuine solidarity. The world cannot turn away at this critical moment.
