Description

‼️ Why Do I Call This “Whale Pee?” 🐋🌊 Someone asked, “Whale what?” 😂 Every time I’m on the Oregon coast and I see sea foam like this, I jokingly call it “whale pee.” Obviously it’s not actually whale pee, but it definitely gets people to ask questions! This is sea foam. It forms when waves churn up dissolved organic matter in the ocean, like proteins, fats, algae, plankton, and other natural material. Those compounds act like a natural soap, and when the surf mixes in air, it creates these huge piles of foam. So no… it’s not whale pee. But if calling it that gets you to learn what it really is, I’d say it worked. 😄 #education #learning #shorts #animals #nature
