With insurance costs up nearly 30% and city rates frozen at $2.70 per mile, drivers like Linda Thomas of Alert Taxi say the math simply doesn't add up anymore. Thomas and other drivers are now taking their fight to City Hall, pushing for a rate increase and even pursuing a grant to help keep their cabs on the road. Their message?
