Andy is just 21 years old. He’s not lazy. He’s not a “wasted space.” He’s a human being trying to survive. People don’t just walk past. They judge. They insult. Sometimes they spit. And yet, stories like Andy’s are far too common, not just in the United Kingdom, but across the United States and Canada. Homelessness and rough sleeping are not about bad choices. It’s about having nowhere left to go. Handing out sandwiches won’t solve this. We need to prevent and solve homelessness by getting people into housing.
