Endangered Greater Gliders Get New Homes!

🏡🐾 In a conservation effort worthy of The Block, endangered Southern Greater Gliders are moving into newly installed luxury nest boxes across the Illawarra Escarpment! Led by the Symbio Conservation Foundation and University of Wollongong, this project combines innovative nest box design with solar-powered, Bluetooth-enabled camera monitoring to help protect one of Australia’s most elusive marsupials. Early footage confirms success, with gliders already occupying 12% of the boxes—offering hope for a species under pressure from habitat loss, climate change, and bushfire impacts.
