Futuristic Focus by Songzio for F/W 26-27, Paris Fashion Week

Explore the fall/winter 2026-2027 collection of Songzio presented at Paris Fashion Week! Drawing deep inspiration from the car-crush sculptures of John Chamberlain, the collection - titled "Crush on You" - served as a masterclass in innovative textile manipulation. Jay Song explored what the "future" might have looked like to an observer at the dawn of the industrial age, resulting in a cinematic, steampunk-infused aesthetic that felt both gritty and high-fashion. The technical heart of the show lay in its experimental bonding; thin layers of aluminum foil and leather were fused with fabrics to create unique sheens and manipulated pleats that appeared "crushed" into place at the waist and hips. The palette evolved from a strict monochrome of black and gray into a mineral-rich landscape of russet, copper, and brown. From oversized, distressed wool sweaters to barrel-shaped padded leather pants, the silhouettes were both voluminous and fluid. Enormous upright collars and steampunk goggles added an air of beautiful alienation, anchoring the collection in a world that felt both ancient and otherworldly. Despite the rigid appearance of the "crushed" elements, the garments were largely bias-cut, ensuring a fluid, graceful movement that contrasted with the harsh, upright collars. The wide, barrel-shaped pants and paper-bag waists in padded leather added a protective, almost armored feel to the models.
