Japanese Air Force F-2 Fighters at Andersen AFB, Guam

The Mitsubishi F-2 is a multirole fighter jet operated by the Japan Air Self-Defense Force (JASDF). While it looks strikingly similar to the American F-16 Fighting Falcon, it is actually a distinct, heavily modified aircraft redesigned jointly by Japan (60%) and the United States (40%) specifically to meet Japan's unique island-defense requirements.
