Big Thunder Mountain Railroad's last operating day at Magic Kingdom is January 6th, 2025 before it closes for an extended refurbishment. The refurbishment includes replacing all of the coaster track, brand new trains, and what's believed to be the addition of enhanced effects coming to the 3rd lift hill. Big Thunder Mountain opened at Magic Kingdom in 1980 and the coaster is not set to reopen until sometime in 2026.
