Description
I didn't think I'd be back tackling these again so soon, but considering how cataclysmic my last attempt was, ( my first attempt, to be fair), I just had to have another go at these to fix the really blatant errors that made them leak terribly last time.
My 3:00 pm coffee break is a significant part of my day. I'm not particularly good at taking breaks, I tend to wolf down lunch and sip coffee as I continue other tasks, but it's still a moment I look forward to each day as the process itself takes a few moments.
I've been thoroughly enjoying the coffee by Plot Roasting (https://plotroasting.com), this isn't advert, their stuff is just sold at my local coffee shop and it's delicious and floral and robust enough to keep me powering through those fatal last few hours in the day where I begin to lose steam. Thus, this week, I'm covering the entire creation of some 'corrected', I hope, V60-style drip coffee vessels, from throwing them, trimming their complex forms, glazing them, and finally reduction firing them in my gas kiln to cone ten, (1290ºC).
There's a lot of steps when making these but arguably, now that I've made a handful, once I've figured out a 'specific' shape that functions properly, I reckon they'll be relative quick to bang out, especially with the guide made by Joe Thompson, (the tool used to insert into the dripper at the throwing stage, you can find out more about him below:
Check out @OldForgeCreations for brilliant pottery videos and here's his website, pour-over guide:

Lastly, here's a link to my father's Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/toftmonkey (like discussed), his work is rather extraordinary and you'll be lucky to actually find a coffee sized scoop, as so much of what he creates nowadays is on a much larger, sculptural scale.
Thanks so much for taking your precious time to watch, it means an awful lot.
