Successfully performed a rare in-utero Fetal Aortic Balloon Valvotomy

Happy to share a significant milestone for our team at KIMS Kondapur. We successfully performed a rare in-utero Fetal Aortic Balloon Valvotomy for a 26 weeks 5 days fetus diagnosed with critical aortic stenosis with severe LV dysfunction and MR—one of the very few procedures of its kind done in India. This delicate intervention involves accessing the fetal heart within the womb and opening the narrowed aortic valve with a tiny balloon to restore blood flow and support heart development.
