10 MPG 😬 The Reality of Owning a Ram 2500 Power Wagon

The 6.4L HEMI in my Ram 2500 Power Wagon is a fantastic engine. It’s powerful, naturally aspirated, proven to be reliable over the long haul, and built to handle real work, towing, and abuse without breaking a sweat. That said, there’s no sugar-coating it—fuel economy is the biggest downside. Sitting at around 10 MPG, with roughly 166 miles of range left on 2/3 of a tank, this truck absolutely loves fuel. But here’s the thing: nobody buys a Power Wagon for fuel efficiency. You buy it for durability, simplicity, sound, and confidence knowing the drivetrain is going to last. If MPG is your top priority, this isn’t your truck. If reliability and capability matter more, the 6.4 HEMI still makes a strong case.
