Further ahead lies the heart of Minimarg — a large, green valley surrounded by snow-covered peaks and dense forests. The view is breathtaking! The valley is alive with charm, home to a government school and traditional communities who live close to nature. From Minimarg, one route leads to Kamri and Gurez Valley, while another goes toward Domel and the famous Rainbow Lake. These roads were opened to tourists only in 2022, making this one of Pakistan’s newest and most exclusive travel destinations. As we drive deeper, the scenery shifts again — lush forests on both sides, rivers flowing beside the road, and crisp mountain air. It feels like driving through Osho Forest in Swat, but even more natural and untouched. Finally, after hours of travel, we reach Rainbow Lake Domel, one of the most stunning lakes in northern Pakistan. Surrounded by mountains and colorful reflections, this lake truly looks like a piece of heaven on earth. Nearby lies Crystal Lake and the historic Musharraf Huts, named after the 1998 Kargil War when these huts were used as command posts. Today, these huts have been turned into beautiful tourist rooms and domed glamping tents, offering a perfect overnight stay with mesmerizing views of Rainbow Lake.
