Inside One of Melbourne’s Coolest Automotive Man Caves!

We visit Art Tech Suspension in Melbourne to meet Arthur and check out his stunning 1965 Ford Mustang convertible, along with one of the most impressive automotive workshops and man caves we’ve seen. Arthur’s Mustang is a genuine factory triple black California car, finished in Raven Black with its original black interior and convertible roof. While the body and interior have remained largely untouched, the suspension, brakes, engine, transmission and differential have all been carefully upgraded. Under the bonnet is the classic 289 Windsor V8, featuring upgraded heads, camshaft, manifold and a Holley 600 carburettor. The result is not an extreme race car, but a reliable and enjoyable classic Mustang built for cruising with the roof down. Arthur also gives us a tour of his workshop, which is packed with decades of automotive memorabilia, including vintage service station items, model cars, signs, an old telephone box and even an incredible penny-farthing bicycle dating back to the 1880s. With almost 40 years of experience in steering and suspension, Arthur specialises in setting up classic cars, muscle cars, drag cars and modern vehicles through Art Tech Suspension.
