Authorities uncovered that the crime was orchestrated by Edouard Donys, the ex-partner of Michaux’s daughter-in-law, driven purely by greed. Donys enlisted Grégory Dumont to carry out the killing. Justice was served when Donys received a 30-year prison sentence and Dumont 25 years. However, before serving his time, Donys fled and quickly became one of Belgium’s most wanted fugitives.
